Pink Ball Festival [ PART II & III ]

I'm back! =)
and I can still recall every single detail
of preparing those cute balls
for the Pink Ball (oops! correction: winter solstice) Festival.

------------------------------------------------------
Gentle breeze blowing...
With JJ Lin Jun Jie music in the background...

The moist feeling....
and the sticky sensation
of the flour
on my palm
as I roll it delicately,
forming a perfect sphere.

The sweet smell of the flour
spiral up my nostrils.....
provoking me to reminisce the past years we've done this.

~ BEGINNING of reminiscence ~

I remember...
when I was around 11 years old,
I kind of got bored of
the same round shape of Tang Yuan.
And so,

I decide to revolutionize.

I like diamonds.
So I let there be diamonds in the soup!
I like squares.
So I let there be cubes in the soup!
I like rectangles.
So I let there be cuboids in the soup!
I like Mickey Mouse.
So I let there be Mickey Mouse heads in the soup!

With my brother as accomplice, it wasn't that hard to create all sorts of Tang Yuan shapes.
He even came up with star shaped Tang Yuan! >_0

That night, I happily chewed on those
Tang Yuans.

But since that memorable night,
there's no more multiple shape of Tang Yuan.....
*sniff*
because Dad said that the size of the Tang Yuans we made
are too
large

gigantic

HUGE .

and so,
to avoid cheap publicity through
news and headlines that shouted 'Family DEAD--choked on Tang Yuan',

that's the end of our creative food art.

~ END of reminiscence ~

------------------------------------------------------

Ooo....I can't wait for dinner!

Hopefully those pink balls will be cooked with
kampung chicken!
and mushrooms!
and Chinese herbs!

Gosh, I'm practically drooling now.....*-,*

PINK BALL FESTIVAL (PART III)

Well, lucky me!
It turns out that I don't have to wait a gruelling 8 hours to dinner....
In fact,
I GET TO EAT THOSE GLUTINOUS PINK BALLS
DURING TEA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Eat me! Bite me! Chew me!' pleaded the pink balls.
